Work progresses at the Delta County Historical Museum and Dr. John Beaumier Archives. A dedication is planned for July 2013 as part of the Esky 150 Celebration.

The City of Escanaba Marina and Ludington Park is now opened for the 2013 boating season, as are the boat launches on Aronson Island and the Northshore Boat Launch facility on the Escanaba River.

Here is a prototype of the new corner street signs being installed on Ludington Street between Lincoln Road and Beaumier Way and Ludington Park. The project is scheduled to be completed by July 1, 2013.

Street improvements on Lake Shore Drive continue with the installation of some new sidewalk and accessible ramps and catch basins. Milling of the street is scheduled to begin later this week between South 10th Street and 18th Avenue South. Expect delays and please use alternative routes.

Work progress at the John D. Besse Public Park located on South 30th Street and 8th Avenue South. The floor has been installed and the block walls have been started.

Mayor Leo Evans has ordered U.S. Flags to be lowered to half-staff at all City buildings, grounds and facilities throughout the City on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, in honor of Terry Russell, a retired City electrical lineman and a former member of the United States Navy. Terry, 54 years old, recently passed away and will be sorely missed.

The Escanaba Migratory Bird Enhancement Initiative (EMBEI) will host a spring tree and shrub planting on Sunday, May 19th in Ludington Park. Meet in the last parking lot on the east end of Aronson Island at 10:00 a.m. RSVP to Joe Kaplan via email (commoncoast@gmail.com).

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY: INFORMATION SOUGHT
The person depicted is believed to have been responsible for robbing Little Caesar's Pizza in Escanaba on November 26 at approximately 5:45 PM.

The suspect was seen by witnesses in the area of the 100 block of South Lincoln Road both before and after the robbery.  We are asking anyone who may have seen the suspect to contact Escanaba Public Safety at (906) 786-5911
